This exposure gave the team visibility among India’s broader esports community and marked their first step onto the national scene.

2019: Building India’s Tekken Community

Throughout 2019, Team Tekken India hosted over 30 online Tekken 7 tournaments, keeping players engaged and connected nationwide.
The year’s major highlight was DreamHack Delhi 2019 (December 7th), where the team managed brackets for a massive 120+ player tournament for Nodwin Gaming.

Tekken Nexus #15 (Online)

The offline event, held at Pacific Mall NSP, brought the community physically together again, setting the tone for a new chapter of Indian Tekken esports.
During this period, the team also executed a smaller offline event, Blood Bash, featuring 22 participants.

With no major sponsors except Pacific Mall Group (venue partner), the team’s dedication and community-first approach stood out across India’s growing esports circuit.

2024: The Breakthrough Year

Tekken Nexus 2024, held on August 4th, 2024 at Pacific Mall NSP, became the largest one-day fighting game tournament in India, hosting 150 players.

Winner: Arhaan | Runner-up: Jin Sama

₹40,000 cash prize + ₹80,000 worth of Qanba & Brook gaming gear

Partners: Qanba, Brook, and Pacific Mall Group

This event represented a defining moment for the team’s perseverance and community growth. However, despite record participation, high production costs meant the event remained self-funded.
This realization led to a strategic decision — no future offline events without confirmed sponsorship.

2025: International Recognition

Tekken Nexus 2025 became an official Bandai Namco TWT Challenger Event, marking a historic milestone for Indian organizers.

Titles: Tekken 8 and The King of Fighters XV

Tekken 8: 225 participants, including 9 international pros from Japan and Korea — featuring 2x Esports World Champion Ulsan.

KOF XV: 44 participants, including Korean player Channel.

With Bandai Namco, Pacific Mall Group, and Team Tekken India powering the event, this was India’s most ambitious fighting game tournament to date.
Even with limited profit, the team delivered a world-class player experience that firmly placed India on the global Tekken map.
